DSWF Supports Film Festival News June 4, 2018 The first ever ‘Freeland Film Festival’ is being held in the USA this month – and DSWF is delighted to be sponsoring this exciting world event. The festival at Green Lake, Wisconsin, is a global storytelling platform featuring films about people, wild animals and ecosystems that are facing daunting challenges. The festival runs from June 15-17 2018 and is open to the public, critics, students, aspiring film makers and activists. It promises to be a fun weekend of films, panels, live music, local food, arts and workshops. These are stories of hope and inspiration and the types of films will range from documentaries, feature-length films and short stories. Freeland is a frontline organisation working for a world that is free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery. It works alongside partners in Asia, Africa and the Americas, aiming to build capacity, raise awareness, strengthen networks and promote food governance, to protect critical ecosystems and vulnerable people. As well as its sponsorship of the first ‘Freeland Film Festival’, DSWF also supports Freeland in its fight against global wildlife crime and continues to back its tiger protection project in Thailand’s Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex.
