About the piece:
Victoria is an illustrator/painter from South Devon, someone who has loved drawing and making things from an early age. She often has diverse projects on the go and really enjoys the challenge of creating a wide range of artwork. She works both digitally and traditionally. Her art college days were pre-computer, so she has relished the challenge of teaching herself to use art and design software. She also pursues a more personal journey through painting. She finds it hugely challenging and extremely enjoyable- in equal measure! Nature is a huge driver for Victoria in her personal life and her work. One of the things she is most proud of is helping to establish a community orchard and meadow in her small town. ‘Urban Flight’ was inspired by a short film by Chris Packham about nature on Teesside called ‘An industrial landscape turned wildlife oasis’. She wanted to show nature living alongside industry.
