This piece was created from a reference taken on a trip to Kenya in October 2024. We wandered through the bush on foot following our guide, who pointed out a group of adolescent giraffe, all grazing among the abundantly green trees and bushes. Seeing these enormous animals going about their lives in the wild was an amazing encounter.

Thanks to Zoe, 50% of the net proceeds from the sale of this artwork will support the charitable work of DSWF and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.

Zoe Fitchet is a wildlife artist from the South of England, who uses her work to raise awareness and support wildlife conservation projects around the world. Working in acrylic or coloured pencil, Zoe creates lifelike portraits, each piece requiring numerous tiny details and multiple layers to build up a realistic result. With the use of negative space to create focus on the subject, her wildlife pieces adopt a more contemporary look.
