About the piece:
Alexander Fleming is a creator of realistic art, only ever subtly and rarely altering the odd thing in an artistic rendition. The real and natural world is immensely interesting to him and therefore it is his desire to depict it as near to reality as he can. He sees nature as covering a gamut of size, colour, personality and beauty, all of which he believes should be worthy of everyone’s attention. ‘Secretary Bird’ aims to emphasise the colours of the creature. Alexander did this by rendering its surroundings monochrome, meaning the magnificent bird’s features truly shine through.
