Not a Gift
Levi Hurst
Category Winner
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Levi’s inspiration for this piece was to show the true horrors of tiger poaching in the illegal big cat trade. Levi wanted to emphasise that people aren’t just seeing these animals as beauty but in fact as gifts or a status symbol. Levi wanted to shock people into what a certain part of these tigers are used for with the hope that they would have a greater understanding.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Levi Hurst is a pencil artist, specialising in the hyper-realistic style. He likes to create work to be impactful, allowing people to have an opinion whether it be bad or good. Levi likes to create work to show the real horrors of animal poaching, trading and extinction; to help people have an understanding of what’s really going on in the animal world, and to hopefully have an influence using his artwork as a voice for these animals.
