Annik says “I was intrigued by this baboon’s look, there is so much intelligence behind those eyes. Unfortunately baboons are losing their habitat due to over-grazing, agricultural expansion and overall human settlement growth. That’s why I call this painting “I Do Matter”, to draw attention to these amazing animals who also have the right to be there!”

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Annik Janssens has a huge passion for animals and everything that has to do with nature. Ever since she was a toddler all she wanted to do was draw ‘critters’.  Janssens spends as much time as possible outdoors, preferably in the forest, where she observes nature in the peace and quiet. She strives to convert her passion for animals into realistic portraits where she tries to approach the character of the animal as much as possible.
