ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:

“Hold Me Closer” is all about caring. Naomi wanted to connect the viewer to these precious animals through the most basic raw emotion – love. By displaying a mother’s intense love for her baby, Naomi wanted to tug on the heartstrings and highlight the orangutan’s vulnerability and plight. Naomi commented: ‘No one will protect what they don’t care about.’

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Naomi Jenkin is a professional artist based in Cornwall. Her passion for the natural world has led her to a career celebrating animals of all kinds through her art. Since 2017 she has drawn hundreds of pet portraits for clients worldwide and has recently started producing wildlife art. “Being able to capture an animal’s personality in my art is one of my core aims. I hope that through connecting people to our planet’s stunning creatures, and helping them to feel some affinity towards them, my works will raise awareness of their plight and the importance to preserve our natural world”.
