ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:

The snowy owl lives in one of the most inhospitable environments, yet manages to survive. Their striking black and white plumage and bright yellow eyes make this one of the most beautiful of the owls. Kathie wanted to paint this owl with as little medium as she could, allowing it to melt into the background.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Kathie Miller is a self-taught artist and has always been drawn to wildlife. Currently living in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California, she has worked in many different mediums from coloured pencils to digital, pastels to textiles and has even carved life-size songbirds. Through her photo-realistic style, she creates an emotional connection between the subjects and the viewer.
