Grayscale of Extinction

Grayscale of Extinction
Annika Toth
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Annika Toth is a marine biologist and seal trainer as well as an artist. Annika says: “Extinction is not a matter of black and white. There is so much more between the categories of ‘least concern’ and ‘extinct’. There are many different ‘shades’ of extinction, shades of grey. But all have one thing in common, they are fading away if we are not intervening and stopping this process.”
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Annika Toth is a 30 year old, self-taught watercolour artist from Germany, who works daily as marine biologist and seal trainer in one of Denmark’s biggest, public aquariums. The close relationship between Annika’s passion for art and marine life is reflected in every single one of her artworks. Understanding the beauty of nature and capturing it in her own creative way is very fulfilling, making her a better biologist and conservationist.
