About the piece:
Detlef is a passionate wildlife artist with a mission to support conservation projects through art sales. This artwork commemorates the hippos he encountered in Blyde River Canyon, South Africa in 2018. This individual came increasingly close to his boat, and ‘Emerging’ tries to recreate the moment of excitement he felt when he saw them appear from beneath the surface of the green water.

100% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
