About the piece:
Alexander Fleming is a creator of realistic art, only ever subtly and rarely altering the odd thing in an artistic rendition. The real and natural world is immensely interesting to him and therefore it is his desire to depict it as near to reality as he can. He sees nature as covering a gamut of size, colour, personality and beauty, all of which he believes should be worthy of everyone’s attention. ‘Damselfly 04’ is a celebration of the small things in the natural world. Created from a photographic image, Alexander commends the photographer’s style in marrying up with his perfectly, allowing for the spellbinding colour in the leaf to come through in this artwork.
