ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:

Rudra’s artwork is based on the plight of animals as a result of human actions. The subject of his artwork “Blinded?” is the sandy mole-rat (Spalax arenarius): a rodent unique to the Ukraine which faces the threat of habitat destruction. Rudra explained he is asking the viewer “who really is blind?”

 ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Rudra Gaidhani is a 20-year-old Indian student studying Animation Concept Art at Vancouver Film School. He has always seen his art as a medium of expression. He is an animal lover and also has a deep concern for the rich heritage of biodiversity that his country has. He has felt inspired by the animated movie ‘The Man Who Planted a Tree’; the film made him realise the impact art has in inspiring the human mind to do phenomenal things, and he wishes to create a positive impact in society with his art.
