Between Dreams

Between Dreams
Joni-Leigh Doran
About the piece:
Joni-Leigh Doran is a South African artist working in the traditional medium of oil paint on canvas and linen. Since early childhood, she found herself most at home close to nature. Fauna, flora and remote landscapes provide her with an endless source of inspiration for her work, with which she has a deep desire to use to support the conservation of wildlife and wild spaces. She resides in the Western Cape of South Africa and sells her work locally and internationally through private sales and direct inquiries. ‘Between Dreams’ is an oil painting created during a time in which most of us experienced great personal challenges and insurmountable loss, as Covid-19 swept across the globe. This painting explores themes of hope; and the idea of rising above adversity. That there is equal beauty to be found in both endings and beginnings. The celebration of the power and resilience of Mother Nature, and how she holds us all in delicate balance. Of flight, and freedom. The power of clear intention. To embrace the future and all its unknowns. The choice of each of us fades on a daily basis to live in hope; to choose faith over fear.
At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
