African Painted Dogs Hunt Wildebeest

African Painted Dogs Hunt Wildebeest
Ingrid Meganck
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Ingrid’s piece depicts a herd of wildebeest on the African grasslands being stalked by a pack of painted dogs, the two dogs instinctively working together to isolate a vulnerable member of the group. Such incredible scenes are in danger of disappearing forever if we do not act now to protect these amazing painted dogs from extinction.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Ingrid Meganck is a self-taught fine art painter based in South Wales. She was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa where she developed an abiding interest in and enjoyment of wildlife and nature which continues to this day. Drawing and painting what Ingrid saw around her helped her to appreciate the beauty and fragility of the African animals and their surroundings. She quickly realised that creative use of light, colour, shape and texture could powerfully illustrate the scenes which moved her so much. Today she continues to pursue her interest in wildlife and the natural world.
