With my painting of a Bengal tiger carrying her cub into the light I wanted to show the juxtaposition between a top predator and a nurturing mother. Along with, perhaps, just a hint of threat!

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Phillip Allder is a wildlife and landscape artist. Originally from London, he is now based in Kendal in the Lake District. He has travelled widely in pursuit of his work and exhibited in the UK and USA. Phillip has twice been shortlisted for Wildlife Artist of the Year and selected as a finalist in the Daily Mail’s “Not the Turner Prize”.
