The most powerful love is maternal love and it would be difficult to find in nature a symbol as strong as a monkey mother who loves her child so much that she cannot accept the reality long after her loss.

MEDIUM: Wood kiln fired ceramic

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Nicole Koleková was born in Bratislava, where she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Her work can be described as records of the untamed dynamism of the animal subject, with expressive modeling and their unique natural character captivated in focused details. During her studies, Nicole was lucky enough to be introduced to the traditional technique of wood kiln-fired ceramics. A very rare approach for ceramic sculpture, with its organic fuel of wood, leaves an unpredictable and wild mark on every one of Nicole’s pieces, beautifully emphasizing her love for nature.
