No. 66 – Tom Curtlin – Elephant

£60

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Tom Curtlin is a self-taught realism artist living in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, working primarily in graphite and charcoal. Tom’s artwork evokes empathy for wildlife by combining bold monochrome compositions with rich detail. His artwork aims to create a calmness, a stillness, in which to reflect on our connection with the inherent beauty and power of the natural world. Whilst creating his work Tom enjoys endlessly exploring different ways to apply and move graphite and charcoal around the paper to generate the details, textures and forms of the subjects he renders.

#SKETCHFORWILDLIFE:

Each year, the talented artists who take part in DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year are invited to participate in #SketchForWildlife.

By painting or drawing a small image on a postcard it gives visitors to the online exhibition a chance to own a totally unique piece of work, by a highly sought after collection of artists.

The postcards have always been extremely popular and we hope you will support this initiative which allows more people to own a unique piece of original art, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. The subject and medium of the postcard was entirely up to the artist, with the subject matter being their own celebration of the natural world.

100% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
