ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Nick Mackman’s work is a continually evolving exploration of animal behaviour. She learned from an early age that every animal has its own distinctive personality. She never starts a new piece without making that connection with her subject. Nick needs to understand the animal, its environment, behaviour and personality, to discover its story and what it’s feeling. Many of her animal sculptures are inspired by observations made in the wild. This helps her connect with the animal.
