‘Power’ embodies the rawness and splendour of nature. It portrays a pod of whales navigating tumultuous ocean currents, symbolising nature’s arduous but often spectacular journey towards recovery when it is given a chance to fight. The encounters the artist Detlef Tibax had with humpbacks over the years inspired him to create this work.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Detlef Tibax is an award-winning wildlife artist from Belgium who sells his work in support of worldwide conservation efforts under his non-profit ‘Art 4 Conservation’. He works predominantly in acrylic paints, pastel pencils, and watercolours. Next to creating studio works in a style that connects abstraction to realism, he is a passionate field sketcher and travels the world to draw and paint animals from life in their natural habitats. His hopes are to strengthen the human relationship with nature and, through his art, urge public attention on the environmental challenges the world is facing today.
