This reworked painting speaks of why Heather Irvine paints. Experimentation and taking risks (as Painted Dogs do everyday to survive) on the canvas with colour, plus not knowing where you will end up, makes for bolder and more intuitive work. It is Heather’s hope to have brought warm life to this alpha pair.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Heather Irvine is a contemporary colourist wildlife artist working in bold bright complimentary colours and loose energetic brushwork to experiment with composition and form. Heather has a strong connection to painted dogs in particular, finding their athleticism and tight family bonds incredibly fascinating, and through her work has donated to many Painted Dog Conservation Groups across Africa. She has been a shortlisted WAY finalist for over 10 years and has exhibited with NEWA (now EWA), The Society of Wildlife Artists, and was overall winner of BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2012.
