As the sun warms her back and glistens through the layers of ice the world stands still. She is oblivious to the harm being caused to her habitat, she is at one with her home, a bond so strong. A moment of pure love lasting for moments but not forever.

Pastel on board

Danielle Verbeeten is an artist based in Sussex, UK. Having worked as a toy designer for Lego, living in Denmark and then designing for many years in the branding industry, her work has an illustrative quality with storytelling at the heart. Currently working mainly in pastel, colourful light and form play a large aspect in her work to create a style of softness and depth of field. Danielle is also a children’s book illustrator and author and will be exhibiting her work in galleries this summer.
