Annabel Thornton – Going Going Gone

Original, Painting | 83 × 58 cm | Framed

Annabel Thornton’s painting ‘Going Going Gone’ celebrates the barn owl. The local barn owl would frequent the fields around where the artist lives but due to developments she would see it less and less, and sadly not at all now. The painting utilises many broken marks as the artist tries to capture the feeling of loss.

Acrylic on canvas

Annabel Thornton studied her degree at Cheltenham where she gained a BA Honours degree. She is a full member of Society of Woman Artists, and Assosiate member of Society of Equestrian Artists and was winner of the DSWF Wildlife Artists Editors Choice Award 2022 for ‘Lone Bee’. Many of Annabel’s paintings are full of texture and colour and she likes to let the painting evolve as it develops. Her paintings range from wildlife, to equestrian to the human form.
