ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Shama Sahzayasin is a ecofeminist artist based in London. Her work is a self-reflective enquiry prompted by dissonance between beauty and violence; accelerating in loss of bio-abundance intersecting with all manner of animals silenced in dominant, desensitised human-centred narratives: showing itself in a accelerating focus on other worlds and in the degradation and refusal of beauty in this one. Destruction and natality, death and beauty reappear in undecidable tension.
