With colours, shapes, and especially with the help of light passing through glass, Tugce Makarnaci created ‘Bloom’; an abstract scene of a blooming flower. This artwork is made out of more than 20 different glass layers to create this 3d shape.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Tugce Makarnaci is a student in Turkey at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Ceramics and Glass. She’s taken part in national and international exhibitions, has attended the 10-day workshop at the Glass Furnace Foundation under the leadership of glass artist Emma Varga with a full scholarship and she graduated from International Relations in 2009. Tugce started her world trip in 2014 which ended in Athens where she lived for 2 years. Influenced by the history and cultures of the Aegean region, she is fuelled by the history and geography of similar but different cultures of the Aegean Sea. She is based in Izmir.
