Zombie gamers give wild tigers much needed protection

2017 got off to a roaring start with funds from an exciting collaboration with PikPok® helping to protect wild tigers across Asia.

Leading games publisher PikPok® teamed up with the TigerTime campaign to run a month long promotion at the end of 2016  that offered Into the Dead gamers the chance to purchase Sabre (left), an all-new tiger companion designed to help you survive a zombie apocalypse. With 50% of the proceeds from the sale of Sabre going to support the protection of wild tigers the TigerTime team were thrilled to receive a donation of over £3,800 from the promotion.

“It’s a fabulous amount from a really interesting campaign,” says TigerTime manager, Vicky Flynn. “Exploring different audiences and spreading the word about wild tigers is key to what we do and working with PikPok definitely ticked all the boxes. With as few as 3,500 tigers left in the wild and statistics showing that India lost 98 tigers in 2016, an increase of 25% on the previous year, our work has never been more critical.”

The additional funding from the promotion has made possible the support of key conservation work in Russia to protect vital populations on Amur tigers.

“We’d like to say a HUGE thank you to PikPok for being so innovative and passionate about our cause and to all the gamers who contributed to the amazing total,” adds Vicky Flynn.
