In Conversation is a new, exciting series of panel discussions with some of the leading lights in the art world, all held throughout David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year (WAY) 2025 exhibition, at the Mall Galleries, London, this September.
The first in the series welcomes Max Denison-Pender and Andy Parkinson, as they discuss lively and challenging topics, hosted by DSWF CEO, Georgina Lamb.
DATE: Wednesday 10 September TIME: 10:30am – 12pm LOCATION: Mall Galleries COST: £40
Max Denison-Pender is a classically trained artist based in London. At the age of 13, he was tutored by a direct descendent of the legendary Spanish artist, Joan Miró, before undertaking a three-year course at the London Atelier of Representational Arts (LARA). Max hosted his first, sell out solo exhibition, ‘The Heart of London’, at just 21.
In the last five years, Max has made headlines as the first artist in over 30 years to gain access to paint the iconic exterior of 10 Downing Street, as well as joining Team GB as their artist in residence at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. His decision to resign from the role in 2024, ahead of the Paris Olympics, in protest at the BOC’s stance on the war in Ukraine, shows we can expect strong opinions from Max during the debate.
Andy Parkinson is a feature contributor photographer and photojournalist for National Geographic, a Nikon Europe Ambassador (Wildlife), and one of the world’s most awarded photographers. From winning 2016 Bird Photographer of the Year to five awards within Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Andy is also honoured as the most prolific photographer in the history of the British Wildlife Photography Awards, with an impressive four category wins, 27 individual awards, and 36 featured images.
Andy is renowned for his uncompromising ethical approach and an ardent supporter and advocate for animal rights. His frequent outspoken views on photography, ethics, conservation, animal rights, and the environment mean you need to secure your ringside seats for this debate today.
