ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Spending time with gorillas in the wild is exceptionally special, but it has similarities with all wildlife experiences, namely that they are part of a unity which is under threat. There is no doubt that any existence in the wild is fragile and fraught with danger. However, all of life on the planet (with the exception of most of humanity) is part of a complex web of interactions that form a unity. This piece is meant to represent that unity.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Cy Baker is a conservation artist who has dedicated most of his career to working with conservation charities, raising awareness and funds to help support their work. David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is the reason for that dedication and they set Cy on his current path.

All his work is done in biro, with small additions of white and black oil paints, giving his work a unique atmosphere and feel.
