ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Andy’s passion is collecting and assembling driftwood from nearby coastal regions to use as the base for capturing wildlife, with emphasis on endangered species, from home to the exotic. These original one-off driftwood pieces are as unique as the animals painted on them.

Use of acrylic paint, Posca acrylic paint pens and oil pastels creates loose expressive marks, while stencilled patterns and paint applied with a palette knife adds texture, depth, and interest.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Andy Currie-Scarr hails from Cumbria and Lancashire and is a mixed media artist who collects reclaimed materials for surfaces to work on. He loves animals, especially our four-legged friends, and frequents the Lake District for inspiration with Pippa the cocker spaniel. His initial practice creating pet portraits naturally evolved into wildlife studies and with an art tutor background he had access to materials and media with which to experiment and explore marks and ideas, developing into his art practice today.
