ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Tiger in a Trap” shows a Sumatran tiger caught in a poacher’s trap.

Caught in a trap and left for days without access to food and water, Sumatran tigers perish from their wounds if not rescued on time.

While studying the Sumatran tiger Ahmed was overwhelmed as to how he should present this situation to the group concerned. He felt helpless and tried to portray the tiger’s pain in this painting.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ahmed Syed is a self-taught artist whose creative journey is driven by a deep appreciation for nature and the visual arts. Working primarily in oil pastel, acrylic, and coloured pencil, he explores the beauty of the natural world through vibrant colours, expressive textures, and thoughtful compositions.

A first-year student of architecture, Ahmed combines his understanding of design, form, and space with his artistic vision. His passion lies in painting wildlife and natural landscapes.
