“The Return” was inspired by the hard-won recovery of once on the brink green sea turtle populations, and the possibility that this tiny hatchling might, against all odds, one day return to the very same shore where its life began.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Louise Hancox is a wildlife artist whose work is rooted in real encounters with animals in the wild.
After retiring from a career in finance, she picked up a pencil for the first time in 2020. Inspired by moments of wonder, connection, and belonging in nature, she creates realistic yet emotive artworks that invite viewers to pause and look more closely.
Her work has been exhibited across the UK, collected internationally, and supports wildlife conservation through fundraising initiatives.
