ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A solitary peacock emerges from deep darkness as a symbol of restrained pride and inner transformation. Its iridescent form suggests a slow awakening of identity, as if beauty is not displayed but revealed through resistance and silence. The work speaks about dignity that does not demand attention, but inevitably commands it when it finally steps out of obscurity into its own presence.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Barbara Kuchnowska was born in Poland in 1998. She graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in 2023, completing her diploma under Professor Maciej Świeszewski. She won the 4th National Student Competition named after Wojciech Fangor and received an Honorary Jury Award at Promocje 2023 in Legnica. In 2025, she became a laureate of the Polish Art Biennale in Piotrków Trybunalski and the 29th International Eastern Art Salon.
