This painting depicts a majestic black giant squirrel gracefully perched on a tree in Khao Yai National Park, indulging in fruits on a twig. Its most striking feature is the long, flowing black tail, rendered in monochrome tones to emphasise the richness of its dark fur.

Carmen Or is a Chinese painter from Hong Kong. Her passion for wildlife and the practice of traditional brushwork began in childhood, shaping her desire to portray nature in simplicity. Following her interest in biodiversity, she earned a PhD in Ecology and brings scientific insight to her practice. Committed to conservation, Carmen is passionate about using her artistic skills and scientist’s mind to deepen appreciation and understanding of the natural world.
