ABOUT THE ARTWORK Saudade: a word deeply connected with Portuguese culture and widely used in Brazil, is a word for dreamers. Nostalgic, longing, absent of someone or something; Latin for solitude.
The jaguar reclines in the shadowy grass, its golden coat patterned with inky rosettes that catch the light. Stylised palms sweep across a soft blue sky and slender trees rise vertically, with silver and gold accents that glow like late-afternoon sun. All this creates a calm, tropical atmosphere and a sense of quiet watchfulness.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Deborah Jones is a British contemporary artist who graduated from Central Saint Martins.
