ABOUT THE ARTWORK Lara loved the colours so much in this piece that she had to draw it. The resting pose of the flamingo had a very calming affect on the artist when she drew it.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Lara Davis came to art not out of ambition but out of necessity; drawing is something she does for her mental wellbeing. Lara is completely self taught and has been a finalist in The British Art Prize 2025. Her medium is pastel pencil, and she brings to it the patience of someone who has learnt to read a surface. She works until the drawing stops asking for more.
