ABOUT THE ARTWORK Inspired by the critically endangered Amur leopard, this piece explores the tension between beauty and extinction. Reimagined in black, the leopard becomes a fading presence, caught between visibility and disappearance. The inverted composition captures the animal mid-leap, while its body is wedged into the canvas edges, creating a sense of restriction that reflects human impact. Through fractured forms, drips, and dissolving boundaries, the work confronts our complicated relationship with nature and our role in its potential loss.
Medium: Acrylic on canvas Category: Abstract World
ABOUT THE ARTIST Hally Mason is a contemporary artist inspired by country living, human connection, and a lifelong love of animals. Rooted in nostalgia and personal experience, her work often draws on memories from childhood, exploring the emotions, relationships, and stories that shape who we are. While animals remain at the heart of her practice, Hally is increasingly exploring broader subjects including wildlife and portraiture. Through expressive colour, texture, and movement, she creates modern, atmospheric paintings that celebrate connection, character, and shared experience.
