Elephant calves naturally stay close to the herd for protection, guidance, and learning. As they grow, they begin to wander short distances to explore their surroundings, building confidence and independence while remaining within reach of their family. This behaviour helps young elephants develop social bonds, navigation skills, and greater awareness of their environment.

Sarah is a self-taught paper artist based in Kent, UK, known for her intricately detailed wildlife portraits made from hand cut paper. Inspired by nature and conservation, her work reflects a passion for the animals she portrays. Her dedication to wildlife and artistic excellence has earned her recognition, including being a finalist in Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2022, winning the Wings category in 2023, becoming the overall winner in 2024 and Highly Commended in 2025.
