ABOUT THE ARTWORK “From The Darkness” highlights the elusive and secretive nature of the jaguar. Using the black paper as an addition colour, the artist carefully selected areas to highlight while letting other areas fade into the black of the paper to create the illusion of the jaguar stepping through dappled light.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Victoria Woolley is a zoologist by training with over 20 years’ experience as a professional wildlife photographer, researcher and guide. Her particular interest is in animal behaviour and how animals interact with their environment. Following a couple of major surgeries, Victoria took the decision to step away from the photography career and follow her passion of creating artwork alongside articles to celebrate all forms of nature and wildlife, and to help raise awareness and funds for its conservation.
