In a commercialised world we become disconnected from nature, with our online lives and throwaway attitudes. Orangutans are treated as infinite commodities, the illegal pet trade for our pleasure and profit, their habitats destroyed by commercial logging, mining and palm oil production. This piece highlights the ‘relative’ we are losing, but will we notice or realise in time?

Nicola’s passion is trying to capture and celebrate the beauty of wildlife through her art whilst highlighting the importance of conservation. Conveying the delicate balance of nature and the urgent need to preserve it for future generations is her goal. She believes art has the power to ignite change, no matter how small that change may be, and hopes to inspire others to conserve and protect the richness of what remains.
