Born from intense life study in the South African bush, this bronze sculpture redefines the warthog beyond typical themes of flight, capturing their deeply comical, joyous, and complex social interactions. Using loose, highly expressive gestural strokes to convey raw vitality, the piece masterfully balances form and emotion. The narrative tracks a tight-knit family dynamic: a commanding father leading the stride, a watchful mother guarding the rear, and vulnerable, fearless piglets embodying the beautifully raw spirit of the African wild.

Award-winning British sculptor Jane Shaw, based in Dorset, specialises in wildlife and animal sculptures for the home and garden. Highly regarded for her unique style of fluid, spontaneous, and strong gestural strokes, Jane focuses on capturing the emotion and movement of her subjects. Sculpting directly from life, she brings an immediate, powerful feeling to every piece.

After transitioning from a corporate career, Jane now dedicates herself to sculpture full-time. Her acclaimed, award-winning pieces are sold internationally and exhibited in London and the UK.
