ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Craig was one of Africa’s last super tuskers. He was known all over the world and became a potent symbol of wildlife conservation. Despite his immense size and fearsome tusks, he was a gentle soul and would pause patiently while visitors flocked to catch a glimpse of the living legend. In this limited edition bronze sculpture, finished in a natural elephant-grey patina, Nick wanted to capture the majesty and quiet dignity of this icon of the African plains.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nick Mackman is an award-winning animal sculptor, working in both ceramic and bronze. Her art is informed by a life-long love of animals, based on long hours of detailed observation, and is a continually evolving exploration of animal behaviour. She never starts a new piece without making a connection with her subject. She needs to understand the animal, its environment, behaviour and personality; know it’s story and what its feeling.
