ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The newly hatched ringed plover chicks are perfectly camouflaged, blending seamlessly into the beach environment, making them nearly invisible. This natural camouflage, while a clever survival tactic, also leaves them vulnerable to human disturbances, especially during the bustling summer months at seaside resorts. Teetering on still unsteady legs, they must quickly learn to feed themselves, while their attentive parents look on, warning when predators are near. It’s a remarkable display of resilience and parental care in the wild.
