ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This image depicts a polar bear falling into the water. Miles was inspired to create this piece after a trip to Svalbard, where he witnessed the harsh conditions these bears must endure in order to survive. The artwork is rendered in pastels and sealed beneath a layer of clear resin, which represents the retreating ice and highlights the impact of a changing environment on their habitat. ABOUT THE ARTIST
Miles resumed drawing in 2021 after a 35-year hiatus, during which he built a career in the camera department of the film and television industry. What began as a creative pastime soon developed into a genuine passion.

Inspired by the natural world, he focuses primarily on wildlife subjects, reflecting a lifelong fascination with animals and their habitats. Although graphite remains his principal medium, he is increasingly exploring new materials and techniques, allowing his artistic style to evolve and expand.
