ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ellen S. Barkin is a Swedish illustrator and painter specialising in paleoart and wildlife subjects. Working primarily in watercolour and oil, her practice explores the intersections of animal behaviour, narrative, and ecological concerns through a deep-time perspective. Grounded in sustained observation of living wildlife, her work aims to maintain a balance between scientific accuracy and artistic expression, allowing space for atmosphere and narrative as well as the joy of discovery and close study of nature.
