ABOUT THE ARTIST
Simone Hofmann is a German artist who is dedicated to portraying the quiet beauty of the natural world. Having initially studied physics, she drew on her family’s rich artistic heritage to develop her own visual language. Her scientific background informs her work profoundly—she employs chiaroscuro to draw her subjects out of the darkness, isolating them through a dramatic play of light and shadow. While her focus remains on birds, she celebrates the unexpected details of all wildlife.
