ABOUT THE ARTWORK Elsie is an intrepid explorer, captured as a small, alert mouse poised atop a slender stem, surveying the horizon for her next adventure. Her warm golden-brown mottled patina, with soft highlights, contrasts beautifully with the green vegetation below. Originally sculpted in clay, wax, and wood, she is now immortalised in bronze. A small war wound on one ear, acquired through her travels, hints at the many journeys behind her spirited character.
Elsie stands as a fitting tribute to Matt’s grandmother.
