ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The eyes of the African wild dog meet ours with quiet accusation. Behind it, a fading map traces a homeland that is slowly being erased. “Last Known Location” is a reminder that extinction does not happen in a moment—it happens in the gradual disappearance of places, voices and lives until all that remains is a record of where they once existed.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Leah Gardner is a coloured pencil artist whose work examines the intersection of wildlife and the human world through meticulous detail and unexpected urban interventions. By placing wild subjects within altered contexts, she challenges perceptions of nature, coexistence, and our impact on the environment. Her pieces invite contemplation, encouraging viewers to look beyond the surface and reconsider the boundaries between the wild and the man-made.
