ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Our planet is beautiful, but as humanity takes over we encroach and destroy its beauty. “In Our Shadow” reflects on the scale of human presence and its growing dominance over the natural world. As the Earth turns, light gives way to shadow—a quiet metaphor for expanding cities, industry, and the systems that displace wildlife from its habitats. Will we continue to eclipse the ecosystems that sustain life or recognise that our survival is inseparable from theirs?

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danielle is a British artist with a background in product and toy design. Her drawings are inspired by the connections we have with objects and one another, and the relationships we have with the natural world. Using pastel she creates highly detailed emotive artwork which combine realism and thought-provoking themes. Recently winning the BTA Rising Star award, and a previous Wildlife Artist of the Year finalist, Danielle’s work has been shown in galleries in London and the South East of England.
