ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Five blooms open across the panel in soft rose and warm pink, their petals curling at the edges to show green—the turn of the collection worked across a whole composition rather than a single flower. Small white flowers settle in the spaces between. The colour is full, high summer; the arrangement is still.

Hand-built in air-hardening clay, finished in layered oil. A field of flowers, invented in Mila’s hands.

Medium: Oil on air-hardening clay on wood
Category: Guest Artists

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mila Ilingina is a Russian-born, Dubai-based contemporary sculptor known for one-of-a-kind floral wall sculptures, hand-shaped from air-hardening clay and finished in layered oil. Her flowers are invented forms—plant logic translated into volume, light, and pigment—built entirely by hand. Trained across graphic design, filmmaking, and ceramics, she carries each into her work. She exhibited at Saatchi Gallery, London, in “Flowers—Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture” (2025), with works held in private collections internationally.

ABOUT THE WAY GUEST ARTISTS
Mila Ilingina is one of a select group of globally recognised wildlife artists who have been invited to exhibit at WAY 2026.
