ABOUT THE ARTWORK “As we climbed over the escarpment into the North Valley, the sun had just risen, casting the backdrop hills in a hazy turquoise and dazzling the group of zebra before us with lemony light”.
Julia tries to capture the atmosphere of this beautiful moment: the zingy freshness of the new day, the glow on the zebras and the urgent kicked-up dust. Using contrasting, soft, lost, and hard edges, with cool against warm hues to portray this moment in time.
