New K9 recruits in Assam!

K9 dog units continue to play an essential role in the protection of endangered species around the world. Our ground-based conservation partners, Aaranyak, have experienced tremendous success with their squad and we’re delighted to introduce new recruits, Harley and Nova!

Now 6 months old, both dogs are undergoing aggression and tracking training, having successfully completed their initial obedience course.

When ready, they will be deployed across key rhino and tiger bearing areas in Assam, India – also home to one of the last strongholds of the greater one-horned rhino.

Regular patrols are vital for the continued survival of these species in the wild. Together, Harley and Nova will aid in the detection of wildlife incursions and tracking for any signs of poaching.
